They Asked Elvis A Question, And His Hilarious Response Left The Entire Room Laughing
Elvis Presley was the King of Rock and Roll. He was a smooth talker and sultry singer with a swaying pelvis. But he got to show off his playful side at a Madison Square Garden news conference back in June 1972. During the press conference, Elvis was asked some odd questions about the Vietnam war and his pop star image.
He was asked about his image as the King of Rock and Roll, he said that his “image is one thing, the human being is another.” Elvis was then asked if it’s hard to live up to his image, in which he joked that it’s “hard” to live up to any kind of “image.”
When he was asked if he’s anything like his onstage persona, he laughed and opened his cape jacket to expose his flashy gold belt. Presley was then asked about the events of the Vietnam War. He refused to respond to any of the political questions and said that he’s “just an entertainer.”
